Tailors Chalk & Holder

I keep this in my sewing kit for quick alterations, and the chalk holder makes marking darts and hems much cleaner than just using a loose piece. The white chalk leaves a clear line on dark fabric without smudging, and the blue one works well too.

The holder feels sturdy and the blue chalk marks wash out cleanly from my test fabric. I use it mostly for hemming pants, and the fine tip gives a nice crisp line.

Finally, a marking tool that actually stays put while I’m pinning hems—the chalk holder’s grip is snug without being stiff, and the white chalk glides cleanly over denim. I’ve already used it on three alterations and the mark wipes off easily.
