Fio Setasuri

Hand-washed a swatch in cool water and it blocked out beautifully, the suri alpaca giving it that ethereal halo you can't fake with wool. Sixty grams of this stuff spins out a seriously airy, gossamer shawl, and the silk adds just enough body to keep stitches defined despite the lace weight.

This yarn has such a lovely, subtle sheen from the silk, and the alpaca makes it incredibly soft against the skin. I’m working on a delicate shawl, and the fine lace weight is perfect for the detailed lace pattern I chose.

I was a bit nervous about hand-washing such a delicate yarn, but the finished cowl came out incredibly soft and airy. The blend of suri alpaca and silk gives it a lovely halo without any itchiness.
