I was a bit hesitant about the length at first, but these nickel-plated pins are perfect for holding multiple layers of satin without slipping. The tapered point really does make a difference when working with delicate fabrics.

The tapered points glide through silk without snagging a single thread, and at this length I can pin through several layers of chiffon at once without bending. Three hundred pins is plenty for a full garment, and they stay put in my pincushion without rusting.

Working with velvet can be tricky, but these nickel-plated pins glide right through without snagging. The extra length is a lifesaver when I need a pin to hold multiple layers in place for draping.
