The gold eyes actually make a difference when I'm threading with dim light in the evening. The shorter shaft gives me better control on tight, detailed stitches, and size 10 handles my finer cotton thread without any trouble.

I quilt by hand most evenings and these between needles glide through cotton layers with way less resistance than my old set. The shorter shaft gives me much better control on tiny appliqué stitches, and I haven't bent one yet after two weeks of daily use.

The gold eyes really do make threading easier when my eyes are tired at night. I used the size 10s for appliqué details and they glide through cotton without bending. Twenty needles means I won't run out mid-project.
