1" White Braided Elastic, 4 yd

I needed a sturdy elastic for a waistband, and this 4-yard piece of braided elastic was perfect—it held its shape well under tension. The 1-inch width worked exactly as I expected for the project.

Finally, an elastic that doesn't twist up when I sew it into waistbands—the ribbed texture holds its shape perfectly. I used the full 4 yards on three pairs of pajama shorts and still had a bit left over. The braided weave makes it feel sturdy, yet it's soft against my skin.

I was hesitant about the stretch, but the way this elastic narrows when pulled makes it perfect for shirring a waistband. Cut off a yard for a swim cover-up and the braided texture gripped the fabric nicely without twisting. Four yards is plenty for a couple of projects.
